Sounil Yu, author of The Cyber Defense Matrix, is a security innovator with a deep knowledge of computer systems and a career spanning over three decades as an executive leader of information technology and security in the federal government, military, and private sectors. Currently, he is the CISO and Head of Research at JupiterOne. Previously, Sounil was CISO-in-Residence at YL Ventures. Before that, he was the Chief Security Scientist at Bank of America.

Sounil serves on the Board of Directors for SCVX and the Board of Advisors for the FAIR Institute and Project N95. He is an adjunct professor at Yeshiva University’s Katz School of Science and Health and a visiting fellow at GMU Scalia Law School’s National Security Institute.

Jasmine Henry is Field Security Director at JupiterOne. Previously, she was Director of Cybersecurity at a different cloud-native software startup, where she became a JupiterOne customer in September 2019. She used the power of graph-based cyber asset and attack surface management (CAASM) as a foundation for the security, privacy, and compliance function she built and scaled from Series A through Series C in this prior role.

Jasmine has an MS in Informatics & Analytics and is an accidental career specialist in applied graph security for hyper-scale, cloud-native startups. She is on the Board of Directors for The Diana Initiative, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to individuals from underrepresented communities in security. Jasmine is the career village organizer for BSides Seattle and a frequent speaker at countless other security cons.
